Baker/Pastry Chef

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our team. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious pastries and desserts. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and culinary skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment. We primarily focus on pies, hand pies (poptarts), cookies, biscuits, and bread. Previous experience with any or all of those items would be a huge plus!

Duties:
- Prepare and bake pastries/baked goods listed above
- Decorate pastries using various techniques, such as icing, glazing, and piping
- Follow recipes and ensure accurate measurements of ingredients
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure optimal results
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production (small team of 2-3 people)
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in the food industry
- Knowledge of different pastry techniques and baking methods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Basic knife skills for ingredient preparation
- Customer service skills for interacting with customers in a restaurant or catering setting

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
