Operations Supervisor

Essential Job Duties

• Perform all work related to facility maintenance of gym. I.e., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep of fitness equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to climbers of all skill levels and promote positive and encouraging climbing experiences while ensuring Climbing Wall Instructors (CWIs) are enforcing gym rules at-all-times.
• Facilitate climbing orientation and certification to novice and first-time climbers during individual, group, and summer camp sessions or ensuring staff members working the program, are properly trained.
• Teaching and assisting with proper fit of equipment, how to properly tie in, how to belay with an Assisted Breaking Device (ABD), teach PPE checks, dialogue and communication with climbers when needed.
• Organize belayers for individual climbers as needed and where possible
• Leads by example in keeping lockers, floors, and common areas clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
• Ensures towels and amenities are properly maintained and present
• Ensures staff is courteous to members and respectful of their privacy while using the facility
• Works alongside staff to complete tasks which improve the member experience
• Lead weekly or bi-weekly walkthrough of facility with management to cover progress on maintenance and operational updates
• Research products, services and supplies needed for gym upkeep. Present price-match options for decision-making.
• Take inventory of all retail pro-shop gear monthly.
• Take inventory of all cleaning supplies monthly.
• Track all Shipping / Receiving of incoming / outgoing packages
• Ensure all Gym rules are followed by staff at all times. E.g., staff operating under certain access levels.
• Ensure all Gym rules are followed by guests, members, and visitors at all times.
• Emphasizing the importance of signage throughout the gym and ensuring its proper placement.
• Connect and reconnect with clients to encourage continued visitation to Threshold. Promote Threshold memberships and services.
• Understand and efficiently navigate MindBody (MBO) software to sign visitors in and process other front desk transactions.
• At all times, be respectful and compliant with corporate rules, policies, and procedures in addition to management direction, as stated in the Employee Handbook.

Education, Skills, & Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED certification required (or a willingness to acquire such certification prior to teaching at Threshold)
• Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) certified through the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) required.
• Annual SafeSport Training and Certification
• USA Climbing Route-Setter, Level 1 or higher certification is preferred but not required
• Proficiency and knowledgeable in bouldering, top rope, speed, sport, and lead climbing
• Must be 18 years or older
• A clear passion for health and fitness which inspires clients
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with all age groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
• Extremely thorough, dedicated, and committed to Threshold’s overall success
