Job Title: Cycle Counter
Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: American Fork, Utah
Job Summary: The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring accuracy of the inventory information and adjusting inventory records based on physical cycle count verification and company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) computer systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Maintain inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs.
- Compiles, verifies, enters, and reports on inventory levels daily.
- Provides periodic statistical information to management regarding trends as related to inventory levels.
- Performs a live production picking function for materials as requested by the Master Scheduler to ascertain that all components are available and accounted for.
- Operating both a sit down and stand-up forklift.
- Ensures overall compliance with inventory processes and procedures as well as contractual obligations.
- Adhere to standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
- Identify and report any count issues or deviations from specifications.
- Work in accordance with SQF (Safe Quality Food), PCQI, or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) rules and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding inventory counts and any issues that arise.
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
PRODUCT SAFETY AND QUALITY
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adheres to and ensures GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Adheres to and ensures Thrives food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.)

- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience operating both a sit down and stand-up forklift.
- Must be able to perform basic math.
- Possesses average computer skills including the use of software programs such as Excel, Access, and Word. ERP experience preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers and departments, including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of stock management, transport, distribution, and logistics.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
- The ability to lift to 50 lbs. is required.
