What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at Thrive West Central?
The Planner works collaboratively with and supports the Thrive West Central Community Development Team. The position’s primary responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of transportation plans, programs, and projects. Work is performed with some independence and initiative under the Community Development Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all duties. The requirements represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required, among educational, experience, and other qualifications.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
- A master’s degree in urban planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- One (1) or more years of experience in urban/regional planning or public administration is preferred.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the development of transportation-related programs and projects.
- Support the development and implementation of planning grant activities.
- Assist with evaluating projects for opportunities.
- Perform technical analyses to support agency objectives and meet state and federal requirements.
- Collaborate with Thrive staff, consultants, local governments, partner agencies, key stakeholders, and the public in planning activities.
- Assist local governments and partner agencies in planning matters.
- Participate in public outreach and educational activities.
- Perform all other duties as may be assigned to meet agency needs.
Licenses:
Must have or obtain a valid Indiana Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Serve effectively in group activities such as teams, task forces, and committees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
