What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host and Axe Throwing Coach position at Throw Inc.?
HOST and/or CAPTAIN
The role of Host and/or Captain is our coveted customer interfacing position that involves ensuring our guests have an amazing time. Our staff undergo a training process that includes reviewing safety protocols, learning throw techniques, and so much more.
EMPLOYEE DUTIES
- Greet customers upon arrival and follow the Throw Inc. process for running a throwing experience
- Coach customers on how to throw Basic and Advanced level weapons
- Check-in guests, ensure waivers are complete and customers know how their experience is going to
- Handle the opening and closing checklist to ensure the general upkeep of the building which includes, but is not limited to, sweeping, wiping down surfaces, etc.
- Create new targets including cutting wood and drawing accurate targets
- Switching out back boards and post boards as needed
- Sharpen axes and wrap axe handles
- Remove worn down targets and hang new targets
- Complete supply checklist and building maintenance checklist as directed
- Continuously work on your throwing skills to advance to new skill levels
- Create a fun and vibrant atmosphere for customers. Have a great team player attitude!
- Showcase your skills and presence on social media
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB
Ability to move throughout the space (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders. Ability to move objects (lift, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
