Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program. Active State of Rhode Island Registered Nurse License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Able to perform assigned tasks and responsibilities in caring for patients across the lifespan. Preferred Qualifications: One or more years nursing experience, new RN graduates will be considered. Bilingual Experience in an Ambulatory Health Care setting. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient interactions and interventions in the EMR. Perform nursing visits utilizing evidence-based health education adapted to the patient’s level of understanding. Review externally ordered laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, notifying the provider of any abnormal results in accordance with organizational protocols. Apply critical judgment when assessing the patient’s present health status to determine the optimal course of action for their care and disposition. Adhere to infection control policies and protocols while providing care to patients in the clinical setting. Participates actively in code and response teams, responding promptly to events. Community: Engage in outreach activities, raising awareness of health issues and available services. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure and optimize patient care. Meet the varied needs of diverse populations through compassionate and empathetic nursing care. Support patients’ reproductive health and family planning needs through nursing, education, and excellent care. Delegate tasks within the support staff or student’s scope and serve as a resource and role model. Enhance clinical excellence by fostering open communication with leadership, colleagues, and peers. Caring: Provide empathetic and emotional support to individuals and families dealing with health challenges. Consider the patient’s preferences, values, and cultural background when formulating a plan of care. Physical Effort/ Environment This role is onsite. Moderate physical activity, walking, standing, stooping, and occasional lifting. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous materials, and infectious diseases. Manual dexterity required for injections, immunizations, computer use, etc. Work Schedule Demands: Primarily Monday – Friday, with some flexibility and at the discretion of site nursing leadership. Communication Skills: Have sensitivity to the patient population we serve, by identifying cultural, social, and economic characteristics. Applies verbal and non-verbal communication skills in patient interactions and utilizes teach-back, active listening, written materials, and visual aids. Able to document clearly, competently, and concisely in the medical record. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and communicate in a professional manner with patients, families, other staff, and outside contacts Confidentiality of Information: Thundermist is dedicated in securing the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. It is the responsibility of all employees to comply to state and federal guidelines in accessing sensitive information. Additionally, this role will have access to sensitive agency information.
