Position Summary:
TIVC is growing! We are currently seeking a Training Specialist to join our team of professionals in Washington, DC.
The Training Specialist is responsible for program training support for multiple programs to ensure programs are administered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with appropriate regulations and laws. The incumbent will serve as the Trainer and professional development specialist while applying professional knowledge to plan and implement a comprehensive training and development program that promotes the growth and development of all staff.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex levels of analysis of every facet of the agency
- Directorate operation;
- Develops training plans for employees who require remedial and/or Personal Improvement Plan training;
- Participates in extensive interaction with the supervisors of other Claims Processing sections, as well as extensive interaction with entities outside of the department;
- Provides strong interpersonal and communication skills in a widely diverse agency;
- Provides extensive interaction and cooperation within the Claims Processing Division to accomplish the Center's mission;
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training and development programs;
- Utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods;
- Identifies, evaluates, and provides resolution of all operational training issues related to the claims processing activities;
- Provides suggestions for training and system enhancements to ensure more accuracy or to increase production.
- Provides superior organization and analytical skills to determine the scope of training issues, determine the methodology to gather facts, and provide guidance and training to staff members to resolve current situations
- Develops curriculum outlines, courses of study lesson plans/guides, and conducts training workshops
- Formulates training outlines and materials, writes lesson plans, and determines instructional methods
- Delivers group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or management areas in a specified field
- Develops, revises, and/or adapts the curriculum to suit the changing needs of staff
- Selects or develops training aids, including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works
- Coordinates new employee orientation programs
Requirements:
- 4 years of training experience
- U.S. Citizen
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Pre-employment background check
- Experience leading live webinar training sessions through Microsoft Skype, Microsoft Live Meeting, and/or GoToWebinar highly preferred
- Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to communicate accurately and clearly
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
