Head of TIAA Client Research The Head of TIAA Client Research is responsible for organizing and structuring TIAA's business and customer research functions to deliver insights for evolving enterprise UX/human-centered design, experience, product, and client needs. This role is designed to serve as a "Center of Excellence" for research throughout TIAA. Key Responsibilities and Duties Create a centralized structure and operating model to deliver coordinated, strategic research insights that helps TIAA make stronger business decisions. Provide business partners with a single point of contact for customer research, behavioral research, UX research, and market research (e.g., segmentation, ethnographic, etc.) Manage a team of researcher leaders and researchers to deliver insights that allow TIAA to define and build valuable experiences, products, and features. Partner closely with cross-functional leaders not only to shape research initiatives led by the research team but also to build strong distributed research systems that empower the whole company to connect with our customers. Partner with a leadership team across product management, design, data science, marketing, and engineering to provide research and insights that influence strategy, design and roadmap priorities and direction. This is a new position and is designed to serve as a “Center of Excellence” for client, prospect, experience, and market research throughout TIAA. Given the connectivity of research to design and analytics, this position will report to the SMD, Chief Design Officer with a dotted line to SMD, Head of Enterprise Analytics. The MD, Head of Customer Research will serve on both leadership teams to bring a unified voice to research, as well as inform and influence the strategy for important business functions. Preferred Experience & Qualifications 15 years of experience as a trained researcher conducting quality, high-impact mixed methods research. Expertise with qualitative, quantitative, and market research methods. Ability to coach and direct researchers in the utilization of a range of methodologies and approaches, building research teams and systems at scale, as well as hiring and mentoring high-achieving researchers. Ability to build relationships & trust with leadership and cross-functional partners. Possess a strong growth mindset, being open and receptive to feedback and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Experience helping shape strategy and priorities for executive leadership teams at a company strategy level. Experience influencing and shaping executive strategies with research and insight. Base Pay Range: $210,000/yr. - $350,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
