Lead Business Systems Analyst
The ALM team's mission is to measure and manage the return and risk related to the relative position of TIAA's assets and liabilities. We build robust ALM framework to help TIAA protect and manage its capital to meet future benefit payments to its participants, and to perform investment/business related analysis and to recommend actions that help meet business and financial objectives.
This position sits in is a highly visible team. Key projects that this team manages include Economic Capital, Long Range Stress Testing, dividend optimization, ALM Reporting, New Business Capacity and various collaborative projects with other business areas to influence strategic/business decision. The new hire will act as a technology liaison and play an important role on these highly visible and influential projects and make constructive contributions. By leveraging technological, mathematical, analytical and programming skills, he/she will have the opportunity to know the details of the mission-critical projects, oversees the analysis of business and information needs, propose new idea/infrastructure, design and implement the ideas together with the enterprise IT teams, to best serve the business in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provides solutions for IT and business management concerning the application of technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation of cross-functional applications.
- Translates business requirements into application requirements, while working with other team members to execute the application successfully. In particular, translate the data needs into the database system design
- Responsible for Oracle database design, programming, testing and debugging, tuning, query design/ optimization, preferably utilizing Python as the ETL tool
- Reviews cost estimates of various system solutions and reviews project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating resources.
- Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems, as necessary.
- Coaches and sometimes delegates work to lower level professionals.

Base Pay Range: $96,700/yr. - $161,100/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
