What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Manager, Analytics Data Steward position at TIAA?
The Sr Manager, Analytics Data Steward ensures that data is accurate and available to support the development, implementation and execution of business analytics initiatives and projects. This job owns the assessment, improvement and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of data, ensuring adequate data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes. As a recognized master in data quality and data governance, this job uses expert level knowledge of the end-to-end master data processes and flows to design and implement master data management solutions in order to maintain a common, firm-wide data standard.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensures that data within the domain (inclusive of internal systems of record, 3rd party external data sources, analytic sources, and master data platforms) meets business requirements for both operational and analytical use cases of that data.
- Investigates and drives consistent metric definitions across the enterprise to develop one consistent view of the customer, user experience, and business performance.
- Partners with domain stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure that all data within the domain has complete business metadata captured and maintained in the appropriate metadata repository or data catalog.
- Partners with IT and data engineering partners to ensure technical metadata and lineage metadata is captured and maintained in the appropriate metadata repository or data catalog.
- Ensures that data within the domain meets business requirements and data policy and data standards for data quality and ensures that data quality requirements are included in product/system development process, both at the source and throughout the data supply chain (acquire/curate/publish/consume), in partnership with IT and data engineering partners.
- Ensures data is compliant with enterprise policies, regulatory requirements and legal/contractual commitments and partners with policy owners and risk/compliance teams to ensure compliance requirements are understood and participates in any risk/compliance reviews, audits and exams.
- Oversees data issue management processes to ensure that data issues are captured, tracked and resolved in a timely manner, with appropriate escalation and status reporting as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience in Data Stewardship, Data/QC Analyst, or similar role
3 years of Basic SQL skills
Data Savvy; experienced in Quality Control, defining metrics and or reporting
Independent yet comfortable with collaborating with analytics and business line teams
Metadata management tool experience (Ex. IGC, Collibra)
Financial Services experience a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Base Pay Range: $104,500/yr. - $174,100/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
