As a member of our Coastal team, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of civil and other engineering and environmental professionals to develop and implement innovative marine/waterfront and coastal engineering projects for our clients in the Northeast. You will have the option to work from either our North Kingston or Providence, Rhode Island offices, and we offer a hybrid work environment with flexible Fridays during the summer.
Our Coastal/Waterfront Group and Projects
Our Coastal team specializes in providing planning and engineering services to address the challenges of coastal and waterfront storm damage on infrastructure. With climate change having a significant impact on numerous communities, we focus on preventative measures to ensure resilience. Our team of nearly 100 Land Use professionals across our 13 regional offices is dedicated to supporting our coastal resiliency projects.
What will you be doing?
As a Coastal Project Manager, you will be responsible for guiding our clients through every phase of the project, from conception to construction completion. Your role will involve interacting with clients, managing budgets, implementing project schedules, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to project engineers and other staff. The projects you will oversee will include the improvement of port, pier, dock, and industrial waterfront facility infrastructure, as well as the construction of seawalls, revetments, shoreline restoration, bulkheads, inspections, geotechnical investigations, retaining walls, fendering systems, pile-supported structures, boat ramps, and a variety of other geo-structural projects. You will also be responsible for ensuring that Tighe & Bond's standards of quality are maintained throughout the development of permit applications, drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, and reports.
What do you need?
To qualify for this position, you should have at least seven years of consulting engineering experience with progressively more responsibility in the waterfront industry. A bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field is required. In addition, you should hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and have experience in project management. Strong technical skills and the ability to lead and mentor others are also important for this role.

The salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $93,000-$146,000.
