Responsibilities
As a Content Policy Analyst on TikTok's US Trust & Safety team, you will work to ensure that users enjoy a safe, authentic, diverse and inclusive community on the platform. This role will sit within the Minor Safety and Wellbeing team and work cross-functionally within Trust & Safety on projects related to minor exploitation on the platform. You will need a deep understanding of the TikTok platform and how it can be abused, especially in ways that pose harm to minors . This role requires developing systems for tracking and anticipating user behavior and identifying thoughtful and creative policy solutions in a fast moving environment. You will work closely with a variety of internal partners including Global and US experts on issues such as child sexual abuse material (CSAM), minor human trafficking and minor sexual solicitation. Additionally, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across Communications, Operations, Product, and Legal teams to ensure that TikTok is able to detect, triage, and prevent safety incidents on platform, while also promoting minor wellbeing. This position will be full-time. It can be based in any of our offices but preference will be given to candidates based in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., or New York City.

Responsibilities:
- Rely on data-driven assessments of potential minor safety threats to develop, launch, and train policies that are customized for our product offerings
- Work closely with cross-functional partners and external experts to stay up-to-date on current research, trends, techniques and patterns related to minor exploitation on social media platforms to predict and prevent safety incidents
- Analyze existing policies and procedures to identify and correct gaps, inconsistencies, or conflicts
- Work cross-functionally with global policy and operations teams to set goals and milestones related to product policy
- Assist team lead in providing comprehensive and ongoing training designed to inform the moderators about policy, procedure changes, recent trends, and updates.
Requirements:Requirements:
- MA/PhD in a relevant field (Anthropology, Psychology/Sociology, Epidemiology, Criminology, Forensic Science, Communications, etc.)
- 5 years professional experience in a relevant field including policy development, law enforcement, research, minor victim abuse, etc.
- Knowledge of how nefarious actors leverage social media and online platforms for minor exploitation
- Experience developing effective policies to prevent technology-facilitated crimes against minors.
- NLP
- Understanding raw data collection and processing, such as web scraping, working with APIs to collect data, working with open source data, and querying databases
- Creating case reports for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other groups
- Bias assessment
- In-depth knowledge of digital photo image metadata, photo editing techniques, webcams
- Linguistics, especially computational linguistics
- Emerging trends detection
