General Ed Asst. .5 FTE

GENERAL DUTIES:

Perform a variety of instructional duties and assist students with technology specials.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• English language, spelling, mathematics, and technology.
• Behavior management techniques.
• Computers and software.

ABILITY TO:

• Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers
• Ability to follow general oral and written instructions
• Carry out duties of special care for students with behavior, medical, or daily living skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in task performance
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($66 fee)
• Ability to meet the “Highly Qualified” paraprofessional requirements (*over for info)
• Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine or provide a medical or religious exemption form

EXPERIENCE:    Three years of experience working with students and the public is desirable.

START DATE:  ASAP

WAGES:    $14.49 - $15.99 per hour, DOE and per OSEA Union Agreement

Tillamook School District requires that all paraprofessionals be “Highly Qualified”. There are 3 ways you can meet these requirements.

1. Possess an associate’s (or higher) degree, or
2. Complete two years of study at an institute of higher education with a minimum of 72 quarter college credits or 48 semester college credits, or
3. Pass a local assessment test demonstrating basic knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics skills. (Accuplacer)
