Position Details Tilson Technology Management, Inc. is currently seeking a Principal Consultant for our Telecom Consulting division. As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for providing leadership, business development, and technical contributions in several areas including state-level broadband initiatives, technical due diligence activities, and market analysis for both wired and wireless technologies. We are seeking an experienced mission driven broadband industry professional with at least 10 years of experience managing customer engagements within the telecommunications industry. While this position is remotely located in the west coast, we will consider qualified candidates who can work effectively in the western time zone from other locations. Responsibilities: Works collaboratively with other leaders/managers in the organization to ensure adequate support of our client contracts. Work with Senior Leadership to develop go-to-market strategies and focus on large or complex sales opportunities. Mentor and provide leadership to other team members. Oversee client relations and represent Tilson with major clients. Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts Review deliverables and provide appropriate feedback to maintain high quality standards. Advise clients on fiber network designs and costs. Act as an expert to provide input and critique of network designs, project plans, and project execution of FTTP projects on behalf of clients who are network funders or owners. Research and draft sections of client deliverables such as network recommendations, alternative project delivery strategies, and requests for proposals. Contribute to proposal writing and fielding requests from public agencies, private infrastructure developers, and other potential clients Participate in multiple projects of varying complexity. Communicate clearly and effectively with internal team, government representatives, broadband service providers, other utilities, and consulting clients. Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. An MBA or advanced degree in a related field from an accredited university is strongly preferred. 10 years of experience consulting in the telecommunication industry. Ability to travel. Strong understanding of outside plant engineering, fiber optic networks, and telecommunication construction. Understanding of the operating requirements of Internet Service Providers delivering broadband and telecommunications services to homes, businesses, and institutions over fiber optic networks. Excellent verbal and written communication. Proficiency in MS Office/Excel. Valid driver’s license. Practice good judgement and take ownership in work place safety.
