What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Designer position at Timber Automation?
Summary/Objective
The Electrical Designer works closely with project engineers, manufacturing, purchasing and customers to perform designer duties, including but not limited to, creation and modification of 2D electrical drawings for projects, using Autodesk AutoCAD software, while adhering to and creating standard procedures for CAD processes / data management.
Essential Functions
The successful candidate will be a professional, self-motivated, team player with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, whom is able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time for multiple projects in fast-paced, time constrained environment.
Preserve design specifications needed to meet stakeholder requirements.
Prepare 2D electrical schematics in AutoCAD for timber mill equipment such as trimmers, stackers, sorters, conveyers, positioners, scanners, cranes, etc. according to industry and customer standards.
Prepare accurate AutoCAD detailed drawings for wiring and control panel / console construction.
Generate Bill of Materials and other documents as needed.
Revise and update existing drawings as needed.
Maintain project design information in a neat, organized manner and per TimberNA standards.
Adhere to design policies and standards as required by project and department.
Attend / Lead Project and Design review meetings as required.
Research, select, and order purchased components as required.
Perform design inspections on assembled units to insure compliance and accuracy of CAD design
Competencies
Must be detail oriented and technically adept
Conceptually understand control function and components interactions / connections
Understands and applies order of operations knowledge to produce products which are manufacturing friendly
Experienced applying standard drafting practices and procedures, such as ANSI Y14.5M or ISO 128
Excellent communication skills
Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
Able to concentrate for extended periods of time, while paying close attention to detail
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will be responsible for the Electrical Engineering department.
Work Environment
This position is an office environment located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. There may be occasional visits to manufacturing floor, where dust and noise may be present, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (steel toed shoes, eye and ear protection).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, due to the nature of the position and its responsivities, it may become necessary to work outside of normal business hours.
Travel
This position requires up to 20% travel
Required Education and Experience
Associate Degree in pre-engineering or Drafting/Design Technology preferred
Must be authorized to work in the United States
5 years minimum related design experience pertaining to creating wiring diagrams and panel drawings
5000 hours AutoCAD Drawing and Dimensioning
