What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary School Music Teacher position at Timber Lane Elementary School?
This is a full-time music teacher position at Timber Lane Elementary School 3 days per week (a .6 position). We are also partnering with another local school where for the other 2 days per week (.4 position). We are advertising for either a part-time position at Timber Lane or a full-time position with us and another school. Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.
- Provide instruction to students in various subjects, including math, science, language arts, and social studies.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage students and facilitate their understanding of concepts.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and other forms of evaluation.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs, including those with autism.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Provide tutoring or additional support to students who require it.
- Utilize library services to enhance student learning experiences.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children.
- Knowledge of educational administration and early intervention strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
