Timber Ridge School is a 12-month residential treatment center licensed and fully approved by the Virginia Dept. of Education for adolescent boys experiencing emotional difficulties and other disabilities. We are located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains NW of Winchester, VA. We maintain a tobacco and drug-free environment. Leary Educational Foundation is an equal opportunity employer.

Bachelor’s degree with certification, or eligibility for certification, as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Endorsement or eligibility for endorsement in Special Education, Emotional Disturbance or Learning Disability. Teaching experience is preferred. Primary hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Mon-Fri.

Develop lesson plans which are appropriate to student needs and aligned with the Virginia Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP) to include academic preparation for the GED test, career guidance, career and technical activities and work-based learning.

Facilitates the delivery of lessons in a manner that is responsive to student’s intellectual level, is based on sound educational strategies, and is intellectually arousing to students.

Manages classroom behavior in a manner that supports a learning environment and is consistent with Timber Ridge School’s Behavior Support System.
