Summary/ Objective: This position works with and supports the Marketing Director to implement marketing and communication activities. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing marketing campaigns focused on branding, product awareness, and customer retention through a variety of different mediums such as social media, email, website, digital, print, audio/radio, outdoor, and branch merchandising.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Coordinate and implement various marketing projects to ensure deadlines and defined goals are met.
  • Collaborate with the bank’s creative agency, print vendors, and other partners to ensure seamless execution of marketing promotions. This includes obtaining price estimates and communicating specifications for the production and design of marketing collateral materials.
  • Develop the social media calendar and create content for social media posts and promotions to increase visibility of the bank, customer engagement, and overall brand awareness.
  • Manage social media platforms and respond to reviews and comments (both positive and negative).
  • Editor of the monthly mortgage email newsletter.
  • Write and organize content for marketing collateral (e.g., statement messages & ads, brochures, newsletters, press releases, website, intranet, posters, etc.).
  • Update customer testimonials, rotating ads, and calendar on the front page of our intranet on a monthly basis.
  • Update the What's New section under Marketing on the intranet with new promotions as needed.
  • Serve as primary Administrator and subject matter expert for Social Assurance, Yext, and Google content management platforms.
  • Work with Compliance to ensure communications adhere to relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Supports operations and lending teams with daily promotional and communication needs.
  • Respond to internal and external marketing inquiries, requests, and problems, taking ownership to resolve issues within given authority in a timely manner.
  • Ensure suitability and optimization of content for all messaging mediums, focusing on consistency in style and tone, relevancy for target groups and alignment with the bank’s brand and messaging.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, customers, management, board members, community members, and outside vendors.
  • Other marketing duties and special projects as assigned based on the needs of the department or organization.

  • Marketing Director, Community Development Specialist, Compliance, Branch Operations, and staff.
  • External vendor partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and online communication tools such as Zoom.
  • Self-starter with exceptional project management skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment, and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Provides a high level of quality service for internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between branches.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field.
  • 2 years professional marketing-related experience.
  • 1 year(s) experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in using graphic design software such as Photo Shop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign and working knowledge of social media management platforms and email marketing software is beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work within deadlines, prioritize multiple projects, and multitask.

  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively multitask, complete assignments and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Content writing. The ability to draft, revise, and publish content to be used across a company’s various marketing channels.
  • Interpersonal communication. The ability to correspond with all members of a marketing department, as well as any other company representatives or executives.
  • Teamwork. The ability to work well alongside other marketing department members, fulfilling projects without conflicting with others’ tasks.
  • Technological proficiency. The ability to proficiently use all required pieces of technology, including any computers, tablets, phones, online advertising programs, data analysis tools, social media platforms, and other digital resources.
  • Data analysis/reporting. The ability to collect, analyze, and report on data to help improve the performance of the bank’s marketing activities.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has supervisory no responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting/bank branch. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

  • To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit or stand for eight or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for eight or more hours per day and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Individuals must be able to engage clients over the phone and in-person by voice. While some absences may be protected by federal, state and/or local laws, regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to assist individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Travel

  • 15% travel responsibilities to update branch materials and help with various community sponsored events.
