The Saw and Material Coordinator is responsible for the receipt of bar stock materials, setup, and operation of saws. Operates a forklift to transport materials for safe transport, effectively manages time, follows production schedule and work instructions to support production.
- Responsible for the receipt and storage of bar stock utilizing an overhead crane
- Setup and operate saws in accordance with work instructions and all other standard work documentation. Uses a computer and a scan gun to log daily production.
- Ensures saws are loaded with correct bar stock for production. Utilizing a forklift, transports finished product to designated storage area.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs of problems or breakdowns with saws.
- Performs routine quality inspection on finished product using bench gauges. Records measurements. Escalates quality issues to Management.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1 year of experience operating a saw and an overhead crane. 1 year of forklift experience.
Physical Demands & Frequency Requirements:
- Continuous standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, reaching, etc. and stooping and lifting while performing material handling activities.
- Position requires substantial time spent on manufacturing floor.
- Frequent handling of objects over 10 lb and occasional handling of objects weighing over 50 lb.
- Manufacturing work environment with moderate exposure to unusual elements such as wet and/or humid conditions. May include transportation and handling of product waste
- Hearing at a conversational level.
- Operates forklift and similar machinery and equipment.
- Requires climbing into and out of material handling equipment (forklift/crane).
- Required to wear protective safety glasses, hearing protection where required and safety shoes where required.
