The heart of a manufacturing business is the ability to efficiently manage the receiving of ingredients, scheduling of production and coordination of customer pickups.

These functions are managed by the Supply Chain team. On this team are individuals that ensure the efficient and effective execution of purchasing, vendor approval, incoming freight, customer orders, logistics, inventory, shipping and customer pickups, scheduling, warehouse management, and over coordination of all team activities by a leader.

This role shall be tasked with supporting the company’s supply chain workflow. This person shall learn and be able to effectively do any of the roles or tasks required to maintain the day-to-day workflow.

The company’s Excellence in Supply Chain process is used as a guidance document and this position will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the process.

This person is a member of the business team and works with production, accounting, and warehouse / inventory functions.

It will be necessary to understand company commitments to our customers. This person shall interact with customers confirming delivery of customer supplied materials and loading / delivery of outbound shipments while providing an exceptional customer service experience.

The ideal candidate will be expected to act as a leader and be an effective member of the Supply Chain team, supporting the success of Tipton’s company strategy.

Position Type Full time / Hourly Supervisory Functions None Location Columbus, Indiana. On-Site, In-Person. Work Hours 8 : 00 AM 4 : 30 PM, Monday Friday, with 30-minute lunch break Primary Responsibilities Learn, know, and master the company ERP system, Infor.

Strive to obtain all COA’s and COC’s from suppliers prior to delivery of goods. Receiving customer supplied materials in Infor is a priority.

Receiving documents must be provided to customer the same day or within ½ day of delivery. Respectful communication with customers, suppliers, and teammates is mandatory both in verbal and written form.

No exceptions. Problem solving and taking initiative to complete responsibilities in a timely manner is required. Participate in morning leadership meetings providing maximum communication.

Provide quality paperwork needed for material receiving. Generate and distribute finished goods tracker every Wednesday.

Notify customers prior to release of finished goods when they can expect to pick up. Continue to send reminders as needed to ensure all new released goods are out of the warehouse within two weeks.

Maintain effective and timely communication with warehouse staff and Supply Chain Leader regarding inbound and outbound freight.

Update dispatch calendar with PO #, material and # pallets as information becomes available. Schedule delivery / shipping appointments with suppliers and customers including needed materials, ordered goods, and returned goods.

Monitor and communicate delivery / pickup status and changes to provide updates to Supply Chain Leader, production, and warehouse staff.

Pictures and detailed communication are imperative. Request release of finished goods from QA for packing list and BOL preparation.

Create packing lists and BOL’s of all customer pickups PRIOR to truck arriving for pick up. Schedule inbound shipments in accordance with the excellence in purchasing program using carriers that provide both quality service, timeliness, and competitive price.

Must get three quotes and update freight tracker accordingly. Initiate any transfers between Tipton Mills and CWH. Arrange freight accordingly.

Resolve carrier concerns, complaints, and failures. Work with Accounting and Supply Chain in developing an action plan to reduce failures.

Assist QA with sourcing materials, requesting of item specs, pricing, MOQ’s, and lead times from suppliers. Provide customers with product samples and company information.
