Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Material Handler
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (both large and small) to move and store materials in the paper mill
- Load and unload paper rolls in the mill with a forklift, weighing up to 6000 pounds
- Receive and verify incoming paper orders from suppliers
- Place paper rolls in designated areas in the mill
- Track movement of materials and maintain accurate records
- Inspect incoming materials for any damage or defects
- Ensure paper is handled and stored safely in the mill
- Troubleshoot any problems that arise with forklift or paper roll movement
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company policies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience driving forklifts in a paper mill setting
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to read and understand instructions
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

- Bangor, ME 04401: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
