POSITION SUMMARY:
Quality Inspector I performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests of medical products, identify non-conforming products, review manufacturing documentation for errors and non-conformities, and perform any other tasks as assigned including working within a clean room environment.
Hours: 6:00AM – 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Pay: From $18.00 an hour and based on experience
ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform Final Product/Packaging inspection of allograft tissue
- Perform receiving and in-process package burst testing
- Perform final quality review of labeled grafts
- Perform inspection of incoming materials and components
- Review and inspection of production records.
- Update and edit work instructions and procedures when required.
- Identify, communicate, and assist in the resolution of quality related issues
- Report to appropriate management personnel any policy violations, safety incidents, quality issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, demonstrated use of sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend information and to effectively communicate with agencies or colleagues at various levels.
- Requires a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to apply knowledge and skills to competently complete assigned work.
- Effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external agencies and vendors to successfully resolve problems.
- Ability to operate a computer with proficiency utilizing MS Office.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior tissue banking or medical device experience preferred.
- Experience with common computer software (word, excel, access). Ability to edit and create word documents.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- Work will be performed in a warehouse environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Duties may include contact/exposure to biohazardous materials, chemicals, and blood and human tissue
- Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Duties may include physical effort; including the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., bending, squatting, reaching, or being on feet for long periods of time.
