Description:
We’re looking for someone with experience managing the immediate financial health of a construction or make-to-order manufacturing company as well as setting a scalable vision and strategy for the future. As a rapidly-growing startup, we also need someone who is energized by a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
Primary job responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to the executive team and the board and help guide financial decisions based on sound financial data analysis
- Hire, manage, and develop accounting staff
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and completely in accordance with GAAP and that books are closed each period on time
- Monitor closing processes, billing, invoicing, expenses, reimbursements, and payroll administration
- Prepare sales tax returns
- Monitor, improve, and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper schedules, analysis, and corrective action
- Closely monitor collections and clearly communicate status of accounts receivable to executive team
- Support future fundraising or other business development efforts
- Active participation in influencing business growth, strategic planning and financial forecasting
- Other duties as necessary
Key skills and experience:

- 5 years of experience in a similar role within finance and/or accounting
- Required: Experience with percentage complete (WIP) accounting.
- Strongly preferred: experience with make-to-order manufacturing and/or construction accounting
- Experience with FP&A
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
- CPA preferred
- Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis and financial project management
- A proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across a diverse set of stakeholders
- Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to synthesize findings, present results, and provide instructions clearly and concisely.
- Experience with federal, state (CO), and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
- Extensive experience in corporate finances, auditing, and performance management
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment

Salary: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
