Job Description:*Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, cognition, hearing and dysphasia disorders. *Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served *Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, cognitive, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient. *Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. *Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. *Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care. *Requires detailed knowledge of speech and language pathology in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data *Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific settingCertifications:Must have SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and BLS certificate. BLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. Experience and certification for VFSS a plus, but not required.EMR: EPIC experience preferred, but not required. Shifts: 8/10-hour Days position (primarily in out-patient with some in-patient daily. 90/10%, M-F).Schedule may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. On call, weekends, holidays, and float as needed. Travelers are first to float across facilities within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts. ??Orientation: 1st week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training. Additional Information:1. Travelers must not have been an employee of the Presbyterian Healthcare Services system for 12 months from last day worked, in order to be considered for a travel position. 2. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. 3. State tax is passed through to your agency and will be reflected on your invoice. The state tax should be paid to the state of New Mexico. 4. ENSURE AN ACCURATE SS# and DOB IS ENTERED.
