Construction Foreman

The Opportunity

TMG Wall Systems is a commercial drywall contractor specializing in drywall installation and finishing along with ancillary services that complement the GWB scope of work. Our core competency is in multi-family housing and mixed-use developments. We are looking for a foreman that will be responsible for managing multiple projects in the Western Oregon area (Vancouver WA to Salem OR for now, maybe down to Medford later).

Types of projects include hotels, multi-plex apartments, mixed use, condo bldgs., senior living centers, similar.

Job Summary:

This postion will be responsible for over-seeing the quality control associated with steel stud
framing and drywall at multiple projects in the Pacific NW. Types of projects include hotels, multi-plex apartments, mixed use, condo bldgs., senior living centers, similar. Travel in and around Western Washington and Oregon during the work-week is required of this position. The QCM will help create a Quality Control Plan that provides an outline in managing steel studs and drywall.

Type of work Performed by TMG & Managed by the QCM:

Steel stud framing, drywall, taping/finishing, texture, paint, ACT/suspended systems, insulation,door frames, FRP is performed by TMG.

The QCM will be responsible for managing the quality of all aspects, with an emphasis on steel stud framing.

Responsibilities:

Review plans, submittals and contract documents to manage the quality of drywall and steel stud framing for compliance with contract docs and industry standards and ensure materials are being installed properly and per submittals. This position includes travel from project to project to assist with and manage the following:

- Review plans, specs and submittals with the foreman/Supt to ensure we have
appropriate materials, equipment and tools to perform our work accurately and
efficiently.
- Ensure we have the correct materials per the submittals and contract documents.
- Assist with layout of steel stud framing.
- Oversee measurements in the field to verify correctness.
- Review the GC’s PM tools to ensure we are capturing all changes, RFIs, etc that may adjust the layout and installation of our work.
- Review and mark wall types for correct layout and installation.
- Review and manage installation of steel studs and GWB on a day-to-day basis. ---Ensure soffit framing work is installed plumb and level.
- Review wall types and installation in the field to ensure we are correctly installing GWB, RC channel, etc.
- Identify and share opportunities for better efficiency / means and methods.

Ability to learn and use Procore for construction management tracking.
Proficient in relationship building.
Ability to coach and mentor employees.
Complete and thorough understanding of construction blueprints/plans and contract documents.
Ability to create, read and implement a Quality Control Plan.
Ability to understand submittals and utilize in the field.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
College degree (Masters, Bachelors or AA) in a related subject (Project Mgmt; Construction Mgmt; Business Mgmt; Engineering; Finance) is a plus.
Construction and Project management of 3 years or more. Qualifying positions for related experience includes Project Engr, Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, QC Manager, Estimator, other related.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk large projects for an extended period of time. Applicant will be required to check in on large projects that are several stories high with only stair access. The projects are sprawling and require a fitness level to access and review construction sites.
Salary:
Pay is DOE and may include a bonus structure linked to profitability performance of the division.

Experience:

• Construction Supervision: 6 years (Preferred)
• steel stud framing/drywall: 4 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Seattle, WA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
