SUMMARY
The Benefit Enrollment and Billing Manager perform advanced managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the Benefit Enrollment and Billing department. Work involves leading a team by creating an engaged and enjoyable work environment in a way that supports work productivity and performance, adherence to established quality guidelines, and a focus on customer satisfaction. The Benefit Enrollment and Billing Manager will also be responsible for establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines, procedures, and policies; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals; and coordinating and evaluating business functions. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working on an engaged team where many people share a common goal or objective in a fast-paced and energetic environment. Attention to detail and a sense of urgency are traits the person should be known for. The person should be able to influence others by being a very strong communicator both verbally and in writing and enjoy solving complicated problems involving benefit billing, enrollment, or eligibility escalations or things that create barriers to creating a great customer experience. This person will have extensive experience with employee benefits, including enrollment and benefit billing, knowledge of qualifying life event rules, consumer-driven health plan guidelines and regulations, and COBRA processes. This individual should already have a strong foundation of leadership experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Use interpersonal skills to develop trust within the team
- Use leadership skills to create a fun, engaging, and productive team focused on the TML Health mission
- Evaluate phone calls and emails with Benefit Coordinators and compare to service expectations and continuously enhance the customer experience
- Administer corrective action and performance action plans as needed
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity
- Approve or deny employer requests for administrative exceptions
- Monitor and ensure departmental timelines are being met for benefit changes and employer billing
- Create staffing schedules to meet monthly service level targets
- Participate in inter-departmental, training, quality and other meetings as needed
- Complete employee performance evaluations
- Work with division trainer to facilitate training based on observed trends
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Working knowledge of internal department tools including Salesforce, Wrike, BenefitSolver, and Genesys call center software

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is required with major coursework in a field relevant to the assignment. (Human Resources) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience with employee benefits, including benefit billing and enrollment systems, qualifying life event rules, consumer-driven health plan guidelines and regulations, and COBRA processes.
- 5 Years demonstrated leadership and management experience
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of service industry experience preferred
- Two years experience in HR and/or benefits administration
