Analyst, Parts Accounting

Who We’re Looking For Toyota Motors North America Accounting & Finance (A&F) department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Analyst for the Parts Accounting team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate and timely accounting and related reconciliations and reporting for parts transactions. This position works closely with IT, Parts Distribution and Accessory Development (PDAD), Finance, Shared Services, Financial Reporting, Tax, and Marketing in providing accounting support. Reporting to the Parts Accounting Senior Analyst, the person in this role will support the Automotive Accounting Department’s objective by ensuring all accounting transactions and reporting related to Parts activities are accurate and complete, including SOX compliance and within accounting standards and policies. What You’ll Be Doing Prepare and record journal entries to support month-end close related to Parts Accounting. This includes upload functions, accruals, classes, allocations, and intercompany entries. Prepare and analyze account reconciliations including research and resolution of variances. Support TMC Parts purchases reconciliation and AP upload. Prepare audit schedules and flux explanations; perform SOX controls; work with auditors on quarterly substantive and internal control testing; support reporting to other departments for TMNA Parts Accounting. Work closely with other teams such as IT, PDAD, Finance, and Tax in providing accounting support as well as help troubleshoot and resolve system and process issues as they relate to financials. Prepare support for CONET screens (quarterly reporting to TMC). Identify and implement process improvements to create additional controls/efficiencies over accounting and reporting processes. Document/update accounting processes and relevant desk procedures, as necessary. Support company-wide and department projects. Review system interfaces and validate the accuracy of data interfacing to the general ledger. Support yearly review and updates SOX narratives and Policies and Procedures. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Progressive years of accounting, financial reporting, finance, or other relevant experience. Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Proven analytical, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and process improvement skills. Proven ability to communicate respectfully with fellow team members and have strong customer service skills. Proven ability to work well independently under demanding deadlines and function effectively in a team-based environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
