The Cybersecurity Engineer will help ensure that our software, systems and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. Performs technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk and remediate associated findings while helping T-Mobile teams and partners improve security. Works closely with other T-Mobile Engineers to design and build proactive methods to enhance our security posture.
This position serves as a subject matter expert which drives vision and results to enhance the Bug Bounty security posture within mobile across our entire internet facing attack surface, which includes IoT devices, enterprise line of business applications, cloud, and core and carrier network technologies as well as and other business units as needed. Principal security advisor to multi-functional teams for the successful delivery of projects or services to enterprise customers.
Our Vulnerability Management team is in the business of trust and reliability. We create, maintain the Scanning Infrastructure & Operations function within the Vulnerability Management organization team comprised of full-time employee individual contributors, managed services, and external partners. The functions include operating and maintaining T-Mobile's vulnerability scanning infrastructure, as well as assisting vulnerability response and remediation tasks with partner and vendor teams.
As a Security Engineer for Vulnerability Management, you will oversee vulnerability assessments to support compliance audits (PCI, FedRamp, IL4). You will partner with a wide range of functional groups including Compliance, Legal, Security Architecture, Product Security and Engineering teams.
You are a highly motivated individual with strong emotional intelligence and demonstrated experience in high growth, fast-paced organizations. You are experienced with Cloud. You have the ability to lead through conflict, take input from multiple stakeholders and deliver solutions required to address complex security issues.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager of Vulnerability Management.
Responsibilities
- Validates the vulnerability is reproducible and demonstrates it to the Line of Business. Validates the exploit has been fixed and is ready to deploy to production. Closes out the vulnerability with the Bug Bounty vendor. Experience with penetration testing tools, such as BURP suite, scripting, etc.
- Supports the identification of security needs and recommends plans/resolutions
- Implements, tests and monitors cyber security improvements
- Works with groups such as application support, engineering ops, finance, privacy, risk management, etc.
- Supports security projects driven by groups both internal and external to cybersecurity
- Experience using the CVSS calculator to assess risk of the vulnerability reported and how it relates to the safeguard(s) vital to protect person, asset, data, and T-Mobile brand
- Experience in multiple facets of network and cybersecurity, including vulnerability analysis and mitigation, and other topics as assigned
- Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree: Computer Science Or Information Technology OR related work experience in lieu of degree
- 2-4 years' experience in info security technology or related field
- Familiarity of scripting tools & languages (Python/Perl/Shell/HTML/PHP)
- Experience with incident handling for Security breaches preferred
- Strong presentation skills to large and small audiences
- Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Self-driven and able to work under tight timelines
- Always act with tact and integrity, and collaborate with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner
- Strong verbal and social skills with diverse multi-functional groups and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups
- Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize tasks to complete independently; Ability to work under pressure and complete duties with quick turnaround
- Subject matter expert in many facets of network and information security, including Firewall policy design, SSL Certificate management, vulnerability analysis and mitigation, and other topics as assigned
- Knowledge of information security policies and regulatory controls (per team function)
- Demonstrable knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of cybersecurity
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or GED
Washington Pay Range: $103,800 - $140,500
New York Pay Range: $97,600-$132,100
California Pay Range: $97,600-$132,100
Colorado Pay Range: $93,200-$126,100
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state
listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work
location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below
this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are
eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which
is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain
positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or
team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or
quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is
