What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at TN Michigan LLC?
SUMMARY:
Perform visual and dimensional inspection on all types and sizes of materials. Follow documented procedures and sampling plans. Perform inspections and appropriately document inspection results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Perform visual inspection, 100%, or per a sampling plan, on all types of materials and products also using visual enhancements such as visual enhancement visors and microscope.
Ø Setup and use all Quality Assurance measuring and sorting devices such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, surfometer, profilometer, screw sorters, roller sorters, Dunkley Machine and microscope measurement.
Ø Read and follow routers and router instructions.
Ø Determine proper inspection method for product type or based on customer requirements.
Ø Accurately complete all paperwork related to performing visual inspections.
Ø Ensure that product is protected to prevent mixture during inspection or while waiting for inspection.
Ø Report excessive defect levels to the department leader.
Ø Understanding of product flow process within plant.
Ø Understanding and use of hand measuring devices such as Micrometers and Calipers and basic microscope use.
Ø Input and retrieve lot information and inspection data in AS-400.
Ø Access and navigate through company procedures on computer intranet.
Ø Perform other activities as assigned.
Ø Maintain work area and equipment
o Clean and orderly work area. Keep area clean and free of safety hazards. Report and/or correct hazards.
o Follow company policies and workplace organization.
o Follow established Kan-ban system.
