What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at TNBR Careers?
This position has four core functions; (1) managerial oversight of workforce department office functions (2) managing and promoting programs and courses through the development, marketing and delivery of non-credit programming, (3) oversight of ACT Prep programming, and (4) responsibility for managing the external facility rentals process.
Essential Functions:
- Provides overall management of the Workforce and Continuing Education office.
- Responsible for coordination of facility rentals for the Columbia campus including developing contracts, room scheduling, coordination of facilities, coordination of audio visual, billing, and collection of fees.
- Responds to and handles telephone, email and in-person requests for information for the department.
- Performs business office functions, including word processing, assistance with preparing and copying course material, syllabi, handouts, generating reports, program reviews, correspondence, mail distribution, document and requisition preparation
- Performs routine office duties such as preparing requisitions for office supplies and equipment, purchase orders, work orders, duplicating and filing, etc.
- Works with other departments, extended campuses and TBR institutions in support of campus work.
- Responsible for the oversight of the ACT Prep Program including scheduling classes, creating course sections in CampusCE, coordination of instructors, ordering books, and keeping director apprised of enrollment.
- Serves as point of contact for facility rentals, external and internal events; coordinates and maintains records for facility requests.
- Administers Continuing Education Units which includes preparing reports and maintaining transcripts.
- Maintains the master facility use calendar for the Columbia Campus.
- Promotes the online course offerings including scheduling the online certification programs.
- Accountable for all business services activities of the office.
- Assists with special projects and functions as assigned.
- Support the WCE Coordinator of Workforce Solutions in the management of the summer camp program for the college.
- Maintains appointment calendars, office files, records and supply inventory.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve on college committees as assigned
- Compiles and analyzes data for division reporting and planning.
- Cooperates with the College’s Marketing and PR Office to ensure that marketing materials meet College standards
- Travels to various industries in the service area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience Required:
- Associates Degree in business related field, Mass Communications, Information Systems or other appropriate field.
- One year of experience in outside sales, data management, training, event planning or related field.
- Experience effectively managing multiple projects, adapting to changing schedules and meeting deadlines.
- Office management experience related to budgeting, recordkeeping, reporting, and meeting deadlines.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications – Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, or database applications.
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience monitoring and updating web sites
Education, Training, and Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor Degree business related field, Mass Communications, Information Systems or other appropriate field.
- 3 years in outside sales, data management, training, event planning or related field.
- Data management experience
- Graphic Design Experience
- Experience using learning management systems and email marketing systems
- Experience with curriculum development
- Experience managing various social media

Hiring Salary Range: $35,200 - $42,230
This is a classified (non-exempt) position based at the Columbia, TN Campus.
