We are currently expanding our offerings and conducting the research backed by sound science that will improve the magic and relief that kratom can provide. Therefore, we are looking for assistance in our laboratory in the form of a laboratory technician to help us do so.
The Laboratory Technician performs the activities required to complete the functions of the separations and chemistry department in relation to extracting active substances using proprietary company methods. This position is responsible for assisting in a wide range of tasks from the lab benchtop to the production floor. It requires the ability to understand general technical concepts, perform calculations and carry out duties as required by management and company need. This is including but not limited to maintenance of equipment and handling and cleaning of glassware. The Laboratory Technician is required to understand and execute SOPs and perform all duties with safety in mind. The right candidate will have the ability to learn the roles quickly and efficiently and be able to step into more research-based and analytical roles as they these roles and the candidate evolve within the company.
Laboratory Technician Requirements:
- Assist Operations in meeting production timelines
- Performance of duties in a timely fashion in accordance to company policy with strict adherence to quality
- Successfully use standard lab glassware apparatus such as separatory funnels and vacuum Buchner filter arrangements
- Operate and maintain hotplate and stirrer, vacuum Buchner, separatory funnels and other general lab equipment
- Knowledge of general laboratory procedures and ability to perform related calculations
- Labeling of in-process containers
- Maintain the quality of procedures and products through clear and understandable documentation.
- Keep the laboratory and production floor clean.
- Clear communication with the management and co-workers.
- Execute company methods and SOPs in compliance with local, state, federal regulations as well as company policy.
- Strict adherence to quality control
- Strict adherence to safety
- Ability to train and understand in a timely fashion
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science of in Biology and/or Chemistry, applied sciences preferred but will consider related studies and/or experience
- Previous manufacturing and/or laboratory experience preferred
- Experience in use of Microsoft Word and Excel (Outlook and PowerPoint as well)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift as much as 50 pounds safely
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Must have the dexterity to handle glassware safely and successfully
- Must be able to tolerate reasonable level industrial smells and noise
- Must be comfortable handling chemicals and glassware safely
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
