Job Description
Principal Product Engineer
At TEL Safety, Quality and Compliance are our Top Priority. It is our Pride. We are looking for a talented Product Engineer to develop, support, and oversee products through various stages of their life cycle: development, introduction to the field, and support once part of our fleet. This Product Engineer will be a seasoned, experienced professional with the ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways using formal problem-solving techniques.
To be a successful Product Engineer, you should be a self-motivated individual who needs little day-to-day direction after alignment of expectations and responsibilities, works effectively within a cross-functional team (internal and external stakeholders), and have a high level of expertise around associated business processes and product development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
BS with 6 years of project or product management experience; advanced degree preferred. Project Management Professional certification is a plus
Specific experience with semiconductor capital equipment operation / similar highly complex electro-mechanical system.
Experience with gas-cluster ion beam or ion implantation technology (high voltage, high vacuum), single-wafer dry wafer particle removal and / or chemical wafer cleaning, and fully automated capital equipment is preferred
Proven track record in the application of lean principles and formal troubleshooting activities
Proficient in formal project management systems (Microsoft Project, Monday.com)
Occasional travel, including internationally. Expectation is ~ 15% on average with possibility of peaks at ~ 25% depending on project life cycle stage
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organization and management skills.
High level of formal problem solving techniques
Strong analytical and independent thinker.
Physical Requirements:
Job duties are performed in an office setting or in a clean room environment. May require the use of Personal Protection Equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical project management activities with cross-functional teams utilizing an internal customer perspective using specific system or sub-system integration skill sets to enable completion on time, within budget, and performing to expectation.
- Work closely with technical marketing product manager to ensure product requirements are established and aligned with company needs and expectations.
- Establish and be responsible for project schedules that support overall project / program deliverables, spanning from planning, concept, and design through tool build, test, ship
- Develop work breakdown structure and resource planning for program team and their project tasks
- Hold a membership position on product core teams
- Where applicable, serve as core team lead in a manner that drives cross-organizational teammates to execute to program schedule and prescribed specifications and deliverables
- Holds routine meetings with cross-functional leadership in a tiered management system to review current status to plan. Escalates risks (to schedule, performance, cost) and help needed
- Solve complex issues with fresh takes on existing solutions. Acquire wide range of information to enable a well-educated judgement
