Summary
As our Rockstar Instructional Designer you will ideate, develop, and design what our modern learning courses and training looks like.
To accomplish this, you will use the latest instructional design methods to package content and deliver it to a digital audience. Learning solutions can include e-learning (video, infographics, interactive), virtual instructors (webinars), a blended approach, or a new creative solution brainstormed by you!
Aside from designing and developing content, you will maintain a desire to continue learning and growing with the big picture in mind. You will collaborate with stakeholders, both internal and external, subject matter experts (SMEs), and take tasks and run with them from start to finish.
Job Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with SMEs to utilize their content in designing an effective and engaging course load
- Develop a superior instructional design and content development experience for our clients
- Create rich and immersive programs and engaging supplementary materials
- Build and revise course for LMS
- Work with senior management to plan and execute the future of our eLearning experience
- Self-starter comfortable in fast-paced and time-critical environment
- Familiar with adult learning theory and instructional design principles
- Constantly demonstrate your willingness to help us reimagine learning products
- Open to the hustle; able to pivot and change with our fast-moving business
- Passionate about delivering a quality educational experience for all our users
Qualifications
- 2 years experience working with an LMS
- Computer Skills – Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proven written and oral communication skills; strong technical writing skills in English
- Basic project management and time management skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong computer and device knowledge
- Superior attention to detail
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with Captivate/Articulate/Storyline or equivalent
- Experience with visual design principles including images, graphics and video
- Fearlessness to show creativity and flexibility
- Strong analytical skills to review and organize complex source material
- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in the development of training programs and course materials.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design/Technology, Education, Communications, English, or related field required. Master’s degree a bonus.
Physical Demands
This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: reaching, sitting, lifting (≤25 pounds), finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
- Based on your physical comfort preferences, stand up desks are provided upon request.
Work Environment
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- The office work environment can be boisterous. Attire is business casual.
Travel
- Minimal (less than 5%). May be required to travel overnight – by car or air – to support various events sometimes working in excess of eight (8) hours/day.
