Scuba Retail Associate

Tom’s Dive & Swim has been an Austin staple since the 80s. Our mission is to provide a family friendly and dependable service to our central Texas divers and young swimmers. We are looking for a passionate, determined and friendly individual who can be the next addition to our wonderful team. We pride ourselves on our ability to give any one customer the best possible experience. While knowledge and experience with Scuba diving and/or swim lessons is helpful, it is not required. We will give you paid training to make sure you are as comfortable as possible on our sales floor. Some job requirements are listed below.

• Customer service/sales, our goal is to get our customers in the best equipment that is also comfortable for them. We do not upsell for the purpose of making more money from a sale
• Filling aluminum and steel scuba tanks (45-60lbs)
• Registering customers for scuba and swim classes
• Receiving freight
• Excellent customer service skills, with experience in retail sales and product demonstrations
• Proficiency in using POS systems, cash registers, and basic math for transactions
• Ability to stock merchandise, maintain inventory, and assist with merchandising
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and the ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
• Experience in sales, with a focus on upselling and meeting sales targets
• Knowledge of electronics, technology, and wireless sales is a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently

This is a part-time position, working 2-3 days a week. (roughly 20-30hrs) Our shop hours are Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:30pm (Open at 10), and Saturdays 9:30am-5:00pm (Open at 10). We do not require you to work weekends, but can appreciate availability for Saturdays. We are closed for most major holidays and on Sundays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
