What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Officer position at Tomo?

About Tomo Tomo’s mission is to bring omotenashi to the home buying experience. Learn from our co-founders about what it's like to work at Tomo. Omotenashi is a Japanese principle of hospitality. It involves anticipating the customer’s needs and striving to meet them before the customer is even aware that they exist. It holds that service is a noble profession and that we should take pride in delivering it. As such, we strive to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience to our customers, where we go to great lengths to ensure that every detail is memorable. Job Description Are you passionate about helping others? Do you love sales and providing customers with a once-in-a-lifetime experience? Does using technology to transform everyday decisions and live a better life get you fired up? If all of these sound like you, then come join Tomo as a Loan Advisor and help transform home buying into a customer-centric, streamlined experience.  At Tomo our Loan Advisors are just that—trusted advisors to our customers. They take great pride in understanding each homebuyer's unique goals and needs, and guiding them in their decision to choose Tomo for their mortgage loan. Our Loan Officers collaborate closely with all members of the mortgage operations team throughout the process to bring loans to closing. This role requires someone with exceptional communication skills, a commitment to quality, and a strong desire to help others that results in exceptional customer service.  Beyond producing high quality loans, our Loan Advisors provide a memorable experience that will ensure our customers enjoy the home buying process. They are dedicated to the local markets they sell into and deeply understand the nuances of that area— things like local rules, regulations and common financing hurdles. You may even be able to provide restaurant recommendations!  At Tomo we offer a unique career opportunity and pathway for growth into becoming a successful Loan Advisor. Through robust mortgage industry training, sales skills development, and a toolbelt of systems (no hammers needed), our goal is to elevate our Loan Advisor team to be true experts in helping our homebuyers from loan origination to closing. We take pride in developing our team from within, and this opportunity offers numerous pathways for growth within the organization!  This role will require some non-traditional hours (i.e. weekends and evenings).  Benefits We embrace the philosophy of Omotenashi so we strive to anticipate your needs in order for you to be a healthy, motivated and happy team member. We provide a variety of competitive benefits including (but not limited to): - Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision plans for you and your dependents with some plans covered 100% by Tomo - Work-life balance and a generous paid time off policy. - In order to support teammates who become parents, Tomo provides paid parental leave.  - 401(k) Retirement Plan
