What are the responsibilities and job description for the Curriculum Coach position at Top School South LC?
TOP is looking for cheerful, fun, dedicated experienced Family Service Coordinator with a bachelor's degree in human services (required), and be able to relate positively to persons in crisis, with prior case management experience.
TOP Early Learning Center is a nonprofit community based preschool, with a mission to deliver a high quality early learning experience to children living in poverty.
The Family Service Coordinator will be responsible to:
Case management (80% of time)
Interview clients to assess their situation and capabilities to determine what services are required to meet their needs.
Serve as liaisons between students, homes, schools, family services, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, and other contacts, to help children who face problems such as disabilities, abuse, or poverty.
Maintain case history records and prepare reports.
Counsel parents with child rearing problems, interviewing the child and family to determine whether further action is required.
Refer clients to community resources for services such as job placement, debt counseling, legal aid, housing, medical treatment, or financial assistance, and provide concrete information, such as where to go and how to apply.
Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems such as truancy and misbehavior, and to implement solutions.
Develop and review service plans with clients and perform follow-ups assessing the quantity and quality of services provided.
Assist eligible parents, employees and TOP graduates with enrollment in our college scholarship program.
Maintain relationships with community partners.
Center support (20% of time)
Assists with routine activities in the centers.
Serving as a substitute in classrooms or serving as a substitute for a center director may
be required of the family service coordinator when classroom teacher ratios or center administration ratios cannot be met.
Serves as a translator (if bilingual) for administrative staff during parent-center director
meetings or during child-study team meetings.
Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training programs, supervisory sessions
Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Reports directly to the Executive Director.
Physical Capabilities:
? Be able to walk, run, and repeatedly squat, kneel, bend, sit on floor and in small chairs, see, hear, and speak with children to ensure their health and safety.
? Be able to lift 25-40 lbs.
