Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any abnormalities or diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses or other vision aids as necessary
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in optometry practices and technologies
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an optometrist
- Proficient in medical terminology related to optometry
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ocular diseases
- Experience working with senior care patients is a plus
- Familiarity with optical equipment and instruments used in eye examinations
- Understanding of vital signs and their relevance to eye health
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures in optometry
- Excellent patient care skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
