JOB SUMMARY
The Production Designer is responsible for all technical design set up in preparation involved in the private label design process. This involves creation and/or manipulation of electronic files to be completed in an efficient and timely manner throughout the designing proofing process. This position produces print and digital assets to the needs of the company and its clients.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide quick technical design making good use of key board shortcuts at all times
- Work closely with project coordinator, manager and print department to ensure that printed designs match intended output
- Assist in the print production process, providing constant feedback to design department as well as the support level necessary to keep set work schedules
- Assist in the creation and development of new designs that are visually appealing and meet criteria of target audience and communicate consistency in tone, graphics, content and readability across materials
- Create and/or edit a broad range of graphical materials, including product packaging, sales support materials, value added services, brochures, etc.
- Effectively execute multiple projects / tasks and deliver completed designs on time
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork through active participation in team and department meetings
- Ensure a creative, yet consistent, look and feel that adheres to company or client brand, visual identity and legal guidelines
- Work within organizational guidelines for file structure including: save location, naming convention and file size
- Regularly contribute technical know-how and/or creative insight to the benefit of strengthening the department's overall ability
- Provide creative insight and/or developed designs deemed necessary to support other departments within the company
- Participate regularly in department meetings and development training
- Occasional interaction with customers, providing purchase order or design status updates as well as assisting in the suggested creative direction when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED
- Degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications including: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Must be able to demonstrate ability.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including: Word and Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to revise design layouts based on company and client specifications
- Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
- Must design with good use of keyboard shortcuts and be able to demonstrate ability
- Self-motivated with positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must keep current of developments in graphic design field
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality artwork and meet deadlines
- Must have solid understanding of design, typography, color, composition and art direction
- Effective communication/comprehension skills – verbal and written
- Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
- Ability to work handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to learn new skills and related tasks, dependable and punctual
- Demonstrated ability to work and consistently meet deadlines in a fast paced, print production environment
- Previous print industry experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
