Senior Property Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join in that effort to support the accounting and reporting functions as we build upon and expand beyond our 20 projects currently under management. This role will report to the Controller.

Key Senior Property Accountant Responsibilities:

• Monthly & quarterly property reporting – balancing timeliness, accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
• Reporting quality assurance – balance sheet reconciliations, tenant lease term accuracy including rent increases, rent roll accuracy, tenant true-ups, NNN recs, property & asset management fee true-ups, debt service schedules.
• Property accounting related activities– debt reporting, investor reporting, cash flow forecast, real estate schedule inputs, property operations business metrics and forecast model inputs.
• Process management/systems optimization – driving efficiencies and effectiveness through testing and adoption of automation/functionality/use of AI.

We are looking for someone with:

• 5 years of accounting experience including experience in a full cycle accounting environment; including strong technical accounting skills and purchase accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA is considered a plus.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and priority setting skills.
• A process-improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and identify improvements.
• Advanced MS Excel skills - pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, logic formulas, conditional formatting as examples.
• Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
• Real estate development and property management accounting experience is ideal, as is experience with Yardi, Juniper Square, and/or AppFolio.
