What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Sales position at TOPS Software?
TOPS is looking for a Vice President of Sales to join our team!
Reporting to the COO, the Vice President of Sales will be an accomplished leader with proven experience in building, managing, and scaling a high-performing sales organization. This enthusiastic leader will work to ensure that the team is working effectively, put in place the discipline and rigor necessary for high performance, and develop a comprehensive sales strategy that will facilitate rapid growth.
This role is remote eligible, but preference is given to applicants in Knoxville, Tampa, Atlanta, or Greenville. Salary range is 150-160k base, plus commission, dependent on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Evaluate the current sales strategy and infrastructure; implement the necessary changes in order to create a data driven/supported strategy that can help rapidly scale the business to $50MM in ARR and well beyond
- Train/role play/monitor/coach the team focusing on performance and results to gain insights, improve close/conversion rates and exceed goals
- Attract, hire, train and retain a team of world-class sales professionals with experience in ERP Software, Solutions and Payment Processing sales
- Develop a culture of value-based selling and demonstration through a hands-on approach
- Promote a metric-driven environment for sales effectiveness, methods, costs, and results
- Develop plans for a direct/channel/partnership sales environment and build successful/repeatable programs for each, and the platform as a whole
- Work closely with his/her counterparts in Marketing and Operations to manage the entire customer sale from initial engagement to close/onboarding. With a particular focus working with Marketing to drive the creation and utilization of sales collateral as well as demand generation programs and campaigns that drive revenue increase
- Leverage existing touchpoints and create new touchpoints to develop a cross-sell opportunities that will significantly increase overall sales and revenue per customer
- Maintain effective working relationships with Product Development, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success Teams
YOU SHOULD HAVE
- 5 years sales leadership experience working in a successful B2B, SaaS and/or Payments company that has dramatically scaled
- Experience with hands-on and managerial work with key accounts, call center/support, and implementation teams
- Analytical and data driven with a working knowledge of various SaaS tracking tools to manage and monitor the sales teams activities; ability to use data to drive operational process improvements
- Strong, holistic experience building, working with/in and managing the sales organization including direct, partner, and inside sales groups
- Proven ability to recruit, lead, and scale a high performing sales team
- Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
