Position Summary
Under routine supervision of the Manufacturing Manager, the Continuous Improvement Trainer will deliver continuous improvement training and actions throughout the facility while serving as the Subject
Matter Expert on Continuous Improvement. They will identify, create, implement standardize work procedures as well as assess training needs in the organization, and design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs in coordination with IATF16949 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications
(A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
- Bachelor's degree; preferably in the field of Engineering, Business Management or related area required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in business and industry teaching and/or training experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree will also consider military training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience with supervision and training in an industrial manufacturing facility.

- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Record and maintain production, repair, and machine maintenance records.
- Lay out, assemble, install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment.
- Understanding of methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in maintenance, repair, and electrical work.
- Knowledge of industrial A.C. and D.C. drive systems, PLC's, PC's, Robotics, and electronic control systems. (Electrician Required/Mechanical Basic)
- Ability to distinguish colors to identify color coded wiring, equipment, and safety devices. Must be familiar with N.E.C. requirements. (Electrician Required/Mechanical Basic)
- Knowledge and experience in motors; digital electronics; schematics & print reading; control circuits; power supply & distribution; AC/DC Theory; test instruments; computers and PLC's. (Electrician Required/Mechanical Basic)
- Understanding of the composition, structure, and properties of substances and chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
- Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Knowledge of TOPY and department policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations.
- Ability to follow procedures installing, testing, operating, or repairing machinery or technology systems.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices and Safety Data Sheets.
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions.

Work Environment:

Essential Tasks
(Associate must be able to perform the following functions to the satisfaction of the associate’s supervisor.)
- Plan, develop, and provide training and development programs using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, etc.
- Use excellent oral and written communication skills to organize, develop, or obtain training procedure manuals and guides, and instructional course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
- Availability to provide training on all shifts to meet training compliance/deadlines.
- Assist in the collection of data identifying opportunities and for tracking improvements;
- Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established manufacturing, safety and environmental standards.
- Provide Continuous Improvement training and coaching to all levels of the organization.
- Develop proficiency in the understanding, use of and maintenance of equipment used in training courses as well as equipment, devices and supplies used in the field of environmental services, hazardous materials management, clean-up and emergency response.
- Generate & implement standardized work procedures
- Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
- Design Document Control process per IATF16949 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
- Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
- Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
- Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
- Conducts required and recommended training sessions.
- Develop skills assessment for each area of the manufacturing facility.
- Verify that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
- Creates and implements training budget.
- Prepare & reply to audit inquiries
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
