Position Summary:
As the Authorized Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in our team by performing inspection functions on all Company aircraft and engines, ensuring adherence to Company policies and procedures, as well as aircraft maintenance manuals.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer's service bulletins, and Company Operations Specifications.
- Complete required inspection items (RII) as listed in the Company General Maintenance Manual.
- Review maintenance paperwork, work items, pilot reports, and deferred maintenance items to assess the aircraft's airworthiness before release.
- Stay updated on manual revisions, policy changes, and federal regulations.
- Suggest improvements to maintenance policies and procedures.
- Report airworthiness or safety-related concerns.
- Operate as Flight Mechanic as needed.
- Identify hazards and report through the hazard reporting systems.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Position Requirements:
- Valid FAA mechanic’s certificate with both airframe and powerplant ratings.
- Three years of experience with the same aircraft model.
- Completion of forty hours of general familiarization class (instructor-led) on the same aircraft model.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clear record.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, background check, and TSA clearance.
Language and Communication Skills:
- Proficiency in following oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective written and verbal communication within the Maintenance Department and with stakeholders.
Work Environment:
- Work primarily on the outdoor airline ramp or in the maintenance hangar.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet surfaces, icy conditions, and high winds.
- Interaction with stationary and moving aircraft and ground equipment.
- Potential work in confined spaces and extended stays on/with aircraft, including overnight.
- Travel to domestic and international destinations with varying levels of services and infrastructure.
- Use of personal protective equipment may be required.
Physical Effort:
- Frequent lifting of up to 70 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands for handling objects and tools.
- Various physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to climb and stand on ladders for up to two hours.
- Strong visual, auditory, and speaking abilities, with full-color vision required for NDT inspections.
