Total Safety is looking for a Foreman- General to add to their safety conscious team! The Foreman- General supervises full-time employees in an In-Plant Service Center (IPSC). Ensures that IPSC operations are performed and supervised in accordance with the Customer’s requirements and the Company’s programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that effective customer communication is maintained to efficiently define and schedule IPSC work. Ensures that all employees understand their role in the safety program. Willingness to rotating shifts (day shift or night shift) and provide coverage on a needed basis.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans daily schedules and operations priorities to provide maximum levels of customer service.
- Determines specific and/or special customer needs regarding scheduling and availability of equipment to meet the IPSC daily operations.
- Coordinates the use of personnel and equipment among districts to meet project objectives and achieve maximum efficiency and utilization of company resources.
- Provides leadership in achieving health and safety goals. Proactively identifies safety and environmental issues and ensures compliance with Federal, State, Company, and client standards. Ensures that issues are identified, addressed, and elevated if necessary, in a timely manner.
- Maintains adequate and accurate inventory to sustain a 24-hour state of readiness of shop tools, respiratory and breathing air equipment, transport trailers, cascade air banks, and associated pressure regulating equipment, breathing air compressors and fill stations, portable gas monitors, associated respiratory and gas monitor test equipment, all rental electronics equipment, and handheld radios. Modify to fit specific IPSC services & equipment provided
- Liaisons with Salesforce personnel to coordinate efforts between sales and operations, including direct support of sales efforts when necessary.
- Oversees operational issues to include direct involvement with briefing/debriefing and job preparation and follow-up. Reports status of operational issues to manager on an ongoing basis.
- Prepares accurate and timely documentation including timesheets, compliance inspections, customer communication satisfaction reports, quality assurance, and/or safety alert issues.
- Ensures team is producing at or above communicated production, quality, and safety goals.
- Coaches and counsels’ team to improve technical skills and interpersonal and problem resolution skills. Works to identify and provide opportunities for the team to learn new skills and techniques.
- Compiles material needs and requisitions and submits to purchasing for execution. Performs follow-up as necessary to ensure timely delivery of equipment and/or accuracy of customer status reporting.
- Plans and oversees a Preventive Maintenance Program and repair facility for Total Safety and out-sourced equipment.
- Assists with planning and implementing both short and long-term IPSC goals and objectives in areas including equipment needs, problem prevention, corrective action program, and continuous improvement of IPSC standard operating procedures.
- Assists with special projects as assigned. May occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Progressive experience in the petrochemical and/or refinery operations or industrial safety equipment industry. Experience in Fire Protection Services, Respiratory Protection, and Gas Detection is preferred.
Lead experience or supervisory training with an understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation, and health and safety. Ability to determine human resources and equipment needs as the project matures and to coordinate resources among districts to achieve maximum profitability, efficiency, and utilization.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and other database software. Ability to quickly learn new software applications utilized by the company.
Required Licenses or Specific Training: Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess a good driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving a company truck. Forklift experience preferred. Must have the ability to pass internal forklift certification as required.
Other Required Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities: Demonstrated ability to follow and execute standard operating procedures. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose assigned equipment problems and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations. Knowledge of all regulatory standards pertaining to assigned responsibilities, i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, Site-Specific Standards, etc.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficiency in the care and use of all site-specific, facility, and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Trained in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested).
Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Interpersonal Communication: Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety, and quality instructions and work permits and Plant / Refinery Fire Watch and Fresh Air procedures). The second language is a plus. Must have good communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and have the confidence to tell someone that they may not perform work if conditions or procedures are not safe. Contacts with immediate associates and immediate supervisor for instructions, training, and guidance. Frequent contact with customer and job site personnel so communication and interpersonal skills are critical to success.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and bend. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Respiratory protection (Full Face Air Purifying Respirator) is required to be worn approximately 50% of shift duration.
Work Environment
May be frequently exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions (cold/heat) and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate to high and requires the candidate to be in the hearing conservation program. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and traffic.
Reporting Relationships
Complexity of Duties and Decisions: Must follow established operational, process, compliance, and safety and emergency response procedures. Must adhere to specifications and schedule. Work is reviewed for completeness and accuracy, or inherent checks are built into the nature of the work. Most errors are caught during self-inspection or by higher-level staff before leaving work unit.
Authority: Provides written or verbal instructions and ensures adherence to procedures and standard practice to perform assigned tasks. Direct reports: Safety Attendant, Forklift Operator, Equipment Tech.
Salary : $51,300 - $65,000
