Terms: Contract to Hire – 6 months
Hours: M-F 8-5 – In office
Job Summary
The position will provide assistance with data entry and clerical functions, including processing member health rewards, packaging, inserting, and mailing of health rewards to members, organizing returned mail, and aggregating and tracking daily processed rewards and other administrative functions. The incumbent performs routine to complex data entry and data maintenance functions and is responsible for timely and accurate database maintenance, including compiling the work of others.
Position Responsibilities:
- Processing member health rewards which include reviewing and entering data from various sources including reward forms.
- Reviews data and determines appropriateness for inclusion; enters data from various documents or data sources.
- Assists, monitors and audits the work of other staff involved in health rewards processing.
- Maintains member eligibility as it pertains to health rewards qualifications.
- Assists in the development of desk top procedures for assigned functions.
- Coordinates the tracking of records needed for health rewards processing..
- Sorts and organizes incoming documents and mail (e.g., member health reward forms, etc.).
- Processes returned member mailings through incumbent distribution and member record updates in the designated system.
- Maintains files of member selection forms and other documents.
- Performs special data entry procedures, including Excel sorts, pivot tables, filters and compiling reports.
- Generates and prepares manual member letters and notifications for mailing.
- Resolves eligibility problems with members.
- Conducts outreach to confirm or clarify member qualifications for a health reward.
- Communicates with members to verify address, demographic, and incentive discrepancies.
- Other duties or projects as assigned by management.
- Conducts follow-up and completion of all member inquiries.
- Enters accurate, complete, and correct documentation into GuidingCare software and the Covid-19 database regarding all issues and/or inquires.
- Functions efficiently and productively in a high-volume telephone call center.
- Maintains departmental productivity and quality standards.
Possess the Ability To:
- Assist users and programmers on determining database requirements for tracking of member records under several categories.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Assist in data reporting, analysis and reconciling discrepancies for Health reward assignments, demographic changes and eligibility status changes.
- Utilize computer and appropriate software (Microsoft office suite).
- Work efficiently and productively in a high-volume call center environment.
- Participate in team projects cooperatively
- Work on multiple tasks at once
- Understand managed health care, health care systems, and medical terminology.
- Apply principles and techniques for handling customer service issues with professionalism.
- Resolve and problem solve customer service issues which may arise.
Experience & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of data entry experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and in one of defined threshold languages preferred.
- Experience in an HMO, Managed Care or Medi-Cal setting preferred.
Knowledge of:
- Information system databases; familiarity with Microsoft Access desired.
- Keyboard skills and data entry techniques.
- Program mail merge of member notices or specific forms and draft revisions on internal guides outlining processes for assigned program.
