Description
Toth & Associates, Inc. is hiring a Distribution Line Project Engineer. The primary duties of a Project Engineer include partnership with the Project Manager to maintain scope, schedule, and budget of the project. The Project Engineer is also responsible for technical execution of overhead and underground distribution line projects of any size, complexity, and shall meet TOTH and client quality standards.
The candidate will have thorough knowledge overhead and underground distribution line design, including project feasibility, routing analysis, environmental support and identifying concerns, structure framing and hardware development, foundation analysis and design, producing stringing charts and phasing diagrams, plan and profile development, structure performance drawings for vendor procurement purposes, bid/construction package development, and assisting with and answering construction RFIs. Candidate should be self-sufficient at performing all design aspects required to complete the distribution line design in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including all the policies and procedures, such as Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control.
Qualifications
- BSCE, BSME or BSEE from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
- 5 years of experience in distribution planning, distribution modeling, distribution coordination, overhead and underground distribution line design, distribution field-staking, and joint-use field review and design.
- Solid working knowledge of the PLS-CADD suite design software tools a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations; review and design distribution lines per applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Follow industry best practices.
- Write project proposals, validate details, estimation, tracking.
- Review/perform design calculations verifying electrical clearances.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
- Experience tracking project information such as schedules and expenditures against budgets, preparing status reports and client interface.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
