Overview
The Inventory and Supply Coordinator assists with the implementation of the Touro College of Dental Medicine’s plan to order, receive, organize, store, account for, and distribute all materials supplies and equipment used in the Touro Dental Health Clinic. Utilizing the axiUm Inventory module, the Inventory and Supply manager must start by working with the Instrument and Supply Committee to maintain an up-to-date list of all materials and supplies and equipment approved for use in the school and clinic. The Coordinator must then assign minimum par levels to each of the items on the list to create an ongoing real-time inventory. Utilizing the axiUm’s inventory module the Coordinator will train the clinic’s dental assistants and the schools pre-clinical supply personnel in the placement of internal orders used to supply the clinics and pre-clinic from the inventory storage area on the second floor. The Coordinator will then construct a fulfillment schedule for those orders. In the process of fulfilling those orders, some inventory items will fall below minimum par levels which will generate new orders of those items. The Manager of Inventory and Supply will use the TouroOne Buy System powered by Unimarket to place requests to replenish the inventory levels and fulfill the orders from the list of authorized suppliers. Once the orders are received, the Coordinator will also be responsible for acknowledging receipt of goods. Upon receipt of these items from the vendors, the Manager of Inventory and Supply will scan the items into axiUm and physically place them neatly on the shelves in preassigned locations. These locations will be labelled and barcoded to make identification and scanning fast and efficient. The Inventory and Supply Coordinator will report directly to the Vice Dean and to The Touro College and University System Executive Director of Operations and Procurement. The Coordinator will work closely with the members of the Inventory and Supply committee the dental support staff of the Touro Dental Health Clinic and the support staff of the Pre-Clinical Simulation Lab. The Coordinator will also work to produce accurate Inventory Reports and projections of needed supplies so the clinic is always fully stocked as needed.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Manager of Inventory and Supply include but are not limited to:
- Inventory
- Set Up and run the school’s inventory management system for materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Physically maintain the inventory in the second-floor storage facility.
- Storage & Distribution
- Set up and arrange dental supplies and inventory for efficient picking and safe storage.
- Create a distribution rules and schedules for the clinical staff.
- Neatly maintaining inventory in an orderly, clearly labelled, and barcoded manner.
- Create common sense storage guidelines for pre-clinical supplies that are used on a seasonal basis.
- Create a system for receiving goods from vendors.
- Reports and Meetings
- Produce reports and schedule monthly meetings with the Vice Dean and the Touro College and University System Executive Director of Operations and Procurement.
- The Coordinator will meet with the Directory of the Pre-Clinical Dispensary and the Director of Clinical Operations and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety to ensure coordination of efforts and compliance.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is desired but not required.
- At least 3 years of related experience in a Logistical Supply Environment with excellent references.
- Experience with dental supplies and materials a plus.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Proven strength in verbal and written communications and interpersonal collaborative skills
- Proven ability to multitask and meet overlapping deadlines
- Proven strength in writing, editing, reporting, and proofreading skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Experience with MS Excel formulas.
- Experience axiUm practice management system a plus
- Experience with Tableau or reporting tool a plus.
- Experience with Unimarket a plus
Travel/ Schedule

- Sunday and overtime hours upon request with approval from the supervisors may be required.
