Overview
Collaborate with internal and external finance department stakeholders to advance Purchasing Department Goals, ensuring alignment with the organization's needs. Assist in streamlining purchasing operations, perform related tasks effectively, and drive process efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Answer the phones.
- Download and distribute reports.
- Assist in reconciling the purchasing system.
- Assist in the administration of the travel program.
- Assist in the preparation of complex bid investigations, evaluates bid proposals and issues purchase orders.
- Advises departments on purchasing policies and procedures and provides Supplier on-boarding via Banner and Unimarket Ltd e-procurement solutions; collecting tax documentation and data needed to enable efficiency and accuracy in business operations, purchase and payments.
- Enhance verification and tracking processes within departmental databases for the requisite documentation on file.
- Address system-generated error messages with precision and promptness
- Facilitate effective communication and streamline processes by serving as an internal liaison, ensuring efficient handling of requests and promoting seamless coordination.
- Ensure suppliers have comprehensive information on file, encompassing documentation, contacts, and accurate remittance details, appropriately labeled for internal clarity and accessibility.
- Thoroughly review and approve eligible tuition reimbursement program applications, ensuring a meticulous onboarding process or systematic labeling as needed.
- Engage in meetings and projects that align with this role, contributing to operational efficiency and seamless collaboration.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience
- Associate’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management, or a related field required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookHighly organized and detail oriented.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Banner or other ERP systems required.
Physical Demands
- Extensive use of computers.Extensive time sitting and standing.Able to lift up to 5 lbs.
Travel
- Travel within Touro New York Locations as needed.
