Overview
Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing, seeks a Physiatrist to join its dynamic, interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Join a department of 10 physiatrists with a new four-year PM&R Residency Program in its second year. This opportunity could be either a predominantly inpatient acute rehab position or outpatient depending on the strengths and interests of the ideal candidate. This position is ideal for physiatrists with an academic or teaching background. On call requirement is around 1:9 weeks for weekend coverage.
Our hospital based free standing rehabilitation hospital opened in 2009, our state-of-the-art facility features: 174,000-square-foot, three-story building and includes a 61-bed Acute Rehabilitation Center, including an 11-bed secured Brain Injury Unit; a 50-bed Subacute rehabilitation unit; Aquatic therapy pool: outdoor therapy garden with putting green; On-site pharmacy, and radiological services. Our onsite outpatient PM&R office has an AANEM certified EMG lab doing over 2500 emgs per year. Also onsite is one of our seven outpatient therapy clinics, with PT,OT and Speech. We offer highly specialized in and outpatient programs including amputee, brain injury, neuromuscular, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's and stroke rehabilitation. Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing is the only hospital in the region accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Joint Commission. Our Stroke Specialty, Brain Injury, and Amputee Programs are also CARF-accredited.
Reading Health Rehabilitation Hospital is part of Reading Hospital a 700-bed tertiary medical center that is a level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center and has been listed as one of Healthgrades 2021 America's 100 Best Hospitals in the US. Home to multiple residency and fellowship programs Reading Hospital is affiliated with the new Drexel medical school campus in West Reading. This will allow the next generation of physicians to be trained in Berks County.
