What are the responsibilities and job description for the Express Maintenance Service Advisor - Town Nissan position at Town Nissan?
Town Nissan is is seeking an express service advisor who acts as a liaison between our customers and express service technicians. The express service advisor's responsibilities include greeting customers, listening to requests, scheduling appointments, estimating costs, verifying insurance, conducting inspections, and test-driving vehicles. The service advisor will ensure customer service by working with customers to ensure their vehicle issues and problems are addressed through the routine maintenance process and advise if further work on the vehicle is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule express service appointments. Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain vehicle information.
- Write express vehicle orders accurately and clearly. Inspects the vehicle and use service history to recommend additional needed service.
- Test drive the vehicle with customer as needed to confirm the problem or refer to test technician.
- Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
- Upon customer drop off: Establish “promised time”. Obtain customer's signature on repair order. Establish customer’s method of payment.
- Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail, and get proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
- Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
- Ensure that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Make sure they are locked and all keys are marked and put away correctly.
- Review completed work and all charges to customers.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in relating effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers, vendors and the general public.
- Ability to present learned information one-on-one and in small groups.
- One or more years of experience in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
- Manufacturer Training certifications.
- Ability to drive manual vehicles.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License or equivalent. All licenses must be converted to a Washington State License within 30 days of employment.
- Clean driving record to meet insurability standards
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
