Cramerton, North Carolina Truly is “So Blessed”: Beautiful mountains and the banks of the
Southfork River highlight the topography of this small community. A turn of the century
“model mill village” has become one of the premiere residential communities in the
Charlotte-Metro area. Cramerton has transitioned from mill village to residential
community over the years since Cramer’s vision of a “model mill village” and has become a
“place to call home” for many Charlotte-Metro area commuters. The Town of Cramerton is
located in east Gaston County only 15 miles from center city Charlotte. Cramerton boasts
several unique amenities within the region including a mountain golf course, public island
park in the Southfork River, a Frisbee disc golf course, and a quaint downtown area with
village green.

Cramerton Finance Director Position
The Town of Cramerton, NC is seeking an experienced hands-on professional to serve as its next
Finance Director. Salary range is $58,564 to $86,625. The ideal candidate will have a broad
range of knowledge in the financial functions of local government. The Finance Director reports
directly to the Town Manager. This position requires an individual with exceptional skills,
knowledge and experience related to the principles and practices of accounting, auditing and
financial administration. A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. The
position requires an individual who is comfortable working with personnel across all five
operating departments and citizens of the town.

This position will provide direct leadership to a two person staff presently handling the
accounts payable and payroll functions along with front desk duties. The Finance Director will
be responsible for the entire finance function including general ledger accounting, budgetary
accounting, grant accounting, payroll, purchasing, risk management and human resources. A
working knowledge of and preparation experience with the various North Carolina local
government reporting obligations is strongly desired. The Finance Director prepares monthly
reports for the Town Manager and Town Board of Commissioners, assists with the annual
budget process, maintains and prepares audit work schedules to assist with the annual audit.
Attendance at two Board meetings per month may be required at the discretion of the Town
Manager. With the continued COVID-19 environment, there is some flexibility to work from
home.

Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with
five to seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in local government, with a
strong emphasis on North Carolina experience. Individuals holding a Certified Government
Finance Officer certification and others with private accounting experience are encouraged to
apply.
